Language Arts

At IPS, we use a combination of two programs for Language Arts.

One program is called Fundations. Fundations is a phonological/phonemic awareness, phonics, and spelling program for general education classrooms. All of the students in grades K-3 receive fundations instruction in their general education classrooms.  I provide students with further instruction that tailors to the classroom lessons. Please feel free to check out the Fundations website for more information.    www.fundations.com

Harcourt Story Town is also used in grades K-4. StoryTown is Reading/Language Arts program  designed for skill and strategy development, plus differentiated instruction that meets the needs of all students. Students are introduced to focus skils that are aligned with the common core state standards and then practice those skills through reading various literature selections. I reinforce and build upon the concepts covered in the Story Town program in a small group setting Visit  www.harcourtschool.com/storytown for further information.
